Stealing from the boys

I'm not ashamed to admit that I regularly shop for and wear men's clothing.  There has always been something appealing to me about men's fashion.  I think it's less intimidating than women's fashion and more consistent and I would more than gladly rock more of the trends and pieces, if only they came in my size.  However, for the below $9 men's tanks from Target, I was willing to go with pieces that run a slightly large.  I scooped them up in a small anyway, despite the fact that they show a little side bra.  I'll just rock some fun coloured undies but what do you think about potentially altering them?  I think the solid coloured tank could transition to a fun cut off.

I also totally buy men's undershirts and A-frame tanks to wear casually.  Are there any men's clothes that you purchase for yourself or steal from the boys in your life?

  1. Those are cute! Definitely agree that the last one would look great as a cut-off:)
I love going to the men's section too. I constantly steal my hubby's shirts and sweaters:)

  2. I like my hubby's PJ pants and socks. I wish I could wear his tops but because he's so much taller than me, I just swim in them.

  3. I think your point about the consistency of men's clothing is really insightful. It's been a long time since I stole any clothes from men - but the idea of having a dependable source for some sort of clothing I like is very appealing! Hmmm.

  4. This is so timely, I was JUST thinking about this yesterday. I have ALWAYS loved men's apparel and always wanted to wear it. I do wear men's sweaters as I like the way they hang. And I love that top with the stripes you have posted here. It's nice to hear I'm not the only one who likes menswear - this is great!

  5. I do appreciate their COMFY factor :) What always bugged me are their blazers/suit jackets ... mens have inside pocket, yet I can hardly find any female blazers w/inside pockets ... darn!!!!

  9. I love that men's clothing gives you that sexy androgynous look that's so popular right now. You could even wear a tighter tank underneath in a complimentary color to offset the side-bra issue. Or just embrace it! :D

  10. I always thought my parents secretly wanted me to be a boy. I played soccer and took karate as a kid, and spent all my weekends with my dad while my mom and sister went shopping. My mom even bought me clothes from the boys' section! Then I grew up to the be girliest girl ever.

I still love men's clothes, and totally appreciate the clean lines and aesthetic. I like the work shirts, and if it's small enough, I'll wear them with jeans or shorts to the coffee shops. And the sweater and scarves? Uh-mazing!

  12. You know, I've always thought stealing from the guys in my life was the only to go. Never thought I would actually buy from the men's department--until I was looking for a zip-front sweatshirt. I finally found one I LOVED in the men's department. Go figure. :)
