Cutest little cottage you ever did see

Did y'all have a wonderful mom's day weekend?  Do any Sunday brunching and mimosa toasting to your mothers and mother-figures in your life?  We did an atypical Sunday mother's day lunch of food trucks on First Street in Austin, dining on an eclectic mix of Thai, Chinese and West African cuisine.  Only in my dear old ATX.

If I could get my mom anything for Mother's Day and price was no object, then I'd snatch up this quaint little cottage for her.  It has the most adorably landscaped front and back yard and probably the most chic rugs that I've ever seen throughout.  Mom would die over the 'formal' dining room and also the green glass master shower.  But most importantly to mom would be having the family over and gathering together over a hot meal.  As long as sister and I cleaned up afterward.

  5. I had to pin that bathroom! So gorge! And the whole house is a stunner. Neel will go gaga over the back yard too. 'Nuff said.

  6. Pretty cottage. Love the backyard patio and what a beautiful neighborhood. I can imagine someone ringing the doorbell with a freshly baked pie. :)

  8. I don't think I have ever seen a porch like that on a tudor before! Since I was knee-high to a grasshopper I have always wanted a nice big front porch. As for ours if we all try to get in the door at the same time one of us inevitably falls off our teeny porch ;)

Love the rug in the last bedroom pic. Want! The bathroom is perfect too. As is the kitchen and the backyard. Yep, I'd happily call that home too. Big enough but not too big either. Great find Rooth!

  9. That's a great house, mom would be thrilled--I wouldn't mind living there myself!

I've never tried west African food. How (and what) was it???

  10. I love the inside of the cottage, it's really, really cute. I have to say you're killing me with the "quaint little cottage" description. It's 3,000 sf!!!!!! Is everything really that big in Texas or were you being ironic?

Austin sounds like it was a lot of fun, I'm glad you had a great time and the mix of foods sounds delicious.

  13. That sounds like a lovely mother's day!

It would probably be bad form to fight your mom for this house, right? Good thing I have another in the wings. It's not for sale, mind you. But I was a total creeper and looked it up on Zillow (it's good to be prepared). It was built in 1941 -- and he's so handsome. :)

  14. That would be such a nice gift for mom! I really like how every room has it's own color palette but it all works together beautifully.

  15. This seriously IS the cutest cottage I've ever seen! Our moms must be similar, because I know mine would adore this :) It sounds like you had a lovely day - I unfortunately didn't get to see my mom, but she'll be visiting me next weekend :)

  16. So charming! As I've grown up... I have noticed that my "dreamhome" has gotten smaller and smaller. I suppose the less to clean, the better. :P

This is so cute, though! The bathroom and outdoor space is my favorite!

  17. This cottage is too cute. I wasn't the biggest fan of the front exterior, but the rooms inside just won me over - just so incredible bright and airy! And, how about the endless possibilities and opportunities in the backyard?
