EOW No. 1

These last few weeks I've gotten absolutely horrid about regular posting - via all social media avenues.  There's been so much to share and I've been putting it all off.  Sharing things with large groups of people is overwhelming for me.  "Maybe an end-of-week post will be what gets me back on track" is what the rationale is for this post.  Plus I've seen it executed to successfully on other blogs and it turns into the highlight of what I read every week.  That's my goal on what this turns into.

Here it goes.

The purest thing I've seen this week

This week, I posted about Rome from our Italy, Part I trip.  It seems like it was all so long ago when it was really only two weeks.  Bryan already wants to go back next year.  If you want a sneak peek of the Florence part of the trip along with some exciting news (which I'll post next week), check out my IG here.

Last night, we had a storm roll in and a massive temperature drop from the 90s to the 40s.  It's as though all of the rain that we didn't get during the last three weeks got dumped on us at once.  Welcome to Texas weather.  It's an abrupt shift from iced coffee to hot coffee and tank tops to turtlenecks.  All of this cold weather has me looking at all things cozy, including sweaters and throw blankets (below).  It's taken me a long time (20+ years???) to get down with wearing sweaters.  They're usually too hot and itchy.  Last year I found some that I really liked from Modern Citizen and now I'm hooked.

Speaking of cold weather, I bought Bowie a quilted waxed jacket for rainy / cold weather.  Bryan refuses to dress the dog in clothes so I ordered it anyway and now it's hanging in our hall closet, waiting to be worn.  His Michigan family thinks it's ridiculous.  I think it's cute.  It's this olive green one below and I can't wait for him to put it on for walks around the park.

Orvis

This past week, I rode the mare bareback for the first time since I've owned her and most likely the first time in her entire life.  Neither of us died, although she was very much like "what the heck is going on now I'm very nervous."  She got sweaty, I got sweaty.  Afterward, I realized that doing it without a helmet or having my phone nearby in case of emergencies was a bad idea.  Anyone have a cell phone holder that they like to use at the barn while they ride?  I used to have a Horse Holster but the velcro on it finally gave up the ghost and I'm looking for something more secure.

Other end-of-week wrap ups that I really enjoy below for more of your browsing delight: Joy the BakerStyle by Emily Henderson, and Swiss Miss.

Stay warm and cozy this weekend and let me know which sweaters you all love!

  5. I firmly believe Bowie should wear a jacket. All short haired dogs around here have them for the cold weather. :)

  6. A bit late but this is the holster I use. I've jumped in it and it's never opened. Very easy to out on and get my phone in and out of behind my back. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H0WQ0YK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
