Quick Halloween check in

Halloween moon

Happy Halloween kiddos! May your fall evenings be golden and not too spooky!

The delightfulness of late-October in Texas cannot be oversold.  We still have some solid dawn / dusk light and the mornings and evenings are cool and crisp enough to walk the dog with a light jacket.  A few weekends ago, we spent some extra time out in the country and the nights outside of the concrete jungle are definitely getting chilly.  One evening, we sat out on the rocking chairs on the back porch and spent the spookiest hour listening to night noises.  There were owls hooting at each other and then we heard what I swear were animal screams coming from the woods.  It was the eeriest experience this spooky season - peering out in the darkness with a spotlight to see if we could catch the glint of eyes.  Part of me wanted to see something reflecting back (besides the eyes of all the spiders out there) and part of me didn't know what I would do if something was looking back.

All of us are doing well, adjusting to the temp swings, and are all about to get our worlds rocked with the time change.  Riding in the dark is my favourite said no equestrian ever.

Stay safe out there my friends.
