If you're going to San Francisco...

Then maybe I'll see you there! I'm off to the Bay Area this week for work. It has been a long time since I've visited and I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm looking for some tips on the best places to shop and eat. I plan on hitting up the Pirate Store at 826 Valencia and All Saints. Other than that though, no other Bay Area destinations in mind. Let me know what your favourite places to go are!
The rest of this weekend was spent getting the apartment in working order - we finally unpacked every box! And we went to Ikea and bought a white basic bookshelf for all of my books. We also hung up a good majority of the prints. It feels good to finally have the place looking like we live here instead of having just moved in.
I probably should have rested up more because I'm still feeling not myself from the bug. I'm going to power through the rest of the week and hopefully be better by the time I have to jump on a plane.
Have an awesome time!!!! Hope you kick that bug to the curb before you go :)
ReplyDeleteOoh hope you're feeling better for the trip, Rooth. Valencia St is definitely your spiritual home: check out Paxton Gate, Mission Cheese for a snack (!), and generally hundreds of cute vintage and wonderful 2nd hand shops. There's fabulous wanderings to be had all over the Mission. Just hang there and you'll be so happy. (Tartine Bakery is also excellent!)
ReplyDeleteHave fun... even if it is for work! I've never been to San Fran...
ReplyDeleteDon´t work too hard! Oh, sounds so fun with SF, that´s a city I´d love to see and take pics of one day! :-)
ReplyDeletecongrats on getting everything unpacked, a good feeling to be nested right?
ReplyDeletehave fun in san fran!
I haven't been to San Francisco for forever! And I'm so jealous you'll be going to the Pirate store . . . but do have fun . . . no, really, have fun! :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite city in the entire world.
ReplyDeletetruly. i know it's more chic to say paris or rome, but i just love san francisco, even the so-called unfavorable parts like the tenderloin {i JUST love that name for a section of town}....
i hope you enjoy yourself.
love,
katie
Have fun in SF:) And being the nerd that I am, I really love that pic of your shelf!
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous time- & take lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteWell if you are in the mission you should definitely go to Tartine or Mission Chinese. The Curiosity Shoppe and The Bell Jar are two of my favorite boutiques off of Valencia. There is soo much to do. I hope you have a blast!
ReplyDeleteI've not been there in ages! I remember it being so cold.
ReplyDeleteI too, cannot stand roller coasters. I hate the drop. Ughhhhhh
hi rooth! i'm originally from the bay!! you MUST hit up north beach in S.F. and check out mario's bohemian cigar store for the best focaccia sandwiches + if you're in berkeley {which i strongly suggest you visit}, go to cha-am for great thai, blondie's pizza on telegraph, cancun for burritos - i could go on + on!! please say hi for me!!

Yay for SF visits!! Here are some of my local faves:
ReplyDelete- Caffe Delucchi or Caffe Bao Necci for Italian food in North Beach
- Tartine Bakery for any baked goods
- Chantal Guillon - best macarons ever, and while you're in Hayes Valley there are lots of cute shops and art stores to check out
- crab cioppino at Fisherman's Wharf - pretty much any of the restaurants in that area will serve it. It's a San Francisco original so you have to try it at least one (unless you're allergic to crab, of course!)
And for beautiful sights - Baker Beach, Crissy Field, Marin headlands (great for hiking too), the Ferry Building (with a big farmer's market every Saturday), Nob Hill (Huntington Park - classic views of the SF sky line and lots of cable cars going by!)
Can you tell I love SF? :)
Have fun in SF! And nice to be all unpacked right? YAY!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe and fun trip! :D
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your work trip. There are so many things to do out here, and I see you are getting lots of great suggestions. I am always big on hitting all of the tourist sites, so if you have time Golden Gate Park, Coit Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, and the Golden Gate Bridge would be the big ones.
ReplyDeleteYou apartment looks fabulous. I love Ikea for things like that.
have a fab trip! sounds like you'll have a great time there!
