Snow Days

Society6
As the rest of the northeast was wrapped up by Snowmaggedon, I won't lie that I was sitting here in Dallas a little bit jealous of the winter wonderland that everyone has been posting to Instagram and their respective blogs (yes, even the shoveling part).  Turns out, the snow gods have been listening to my silly prayers because we were glazed over by a layer of ice last night and today is officially a snow day!  Not only do I get to stay snuggled up and cozy today but I'll be traveling to the mountains and more snow later this week.  Winter was a little late in getting to me but now that it's here, it's peaceful, calm, and beautiful.  I hope everyone is staying warm and safe - I'll check in again soon!

  1. Stay cosy and bundled on your sofa, girl! That's what snow days are for (and maybe just a little indulgence in bad tv ;) xo

  4. I'm a little jealous of it, too. It's been high 60s and sunny here in SF, which is great, but weird for February. And it means our ridiculously severe drought will probably continue for yet another year because we aren't getting any rain or snow. :(

    Stay cozy!!

  7. There you are! When I checked this morning, you weren't here yet, but you probably weren't up yet. Hooray for ice storms! I'm so greedy. Cal had ALL of last week off from school with the snow and ice, and when were were expecting a dusting this morning, I still wanted a delay! ;) My dad was trapped all week with ice too, and except for missing malted milk balls, he was pretty snug as well. My eye is always on the horizon for the next storm, so enjoy! :)

  8. You are so lucky you got snow! I was hoping that we would get something here in Austin, but I think it's just rain. Hope you have a wonderful trip to the mountains! :)

  10. Wow, your first snow day and it's almost March! Now that I think about it, being almost March is meaningless with regards to snow. We had two snow days in March last year....including the most fun St. Patrick's Day ever! :D

    Hope you thoroughly enjoyed today.

  11. I also am jealous of the snow. Maybe not to the EXTENT the east coast is seeing, but a little winter wonderland would make me happy right now :)

  15. Have fun in the mountains! I don't mind the snow, but we've got mounds of snow everywhere, frozen solid. Can't find parking in lots of places. Also, I'm officially ready for warmer weather. I had this thought this morning ;).

  16. I will trade you a thin layer of ice that is gone in a few hours for 9 feet of snow and all the associated shoveling!!! I normally like it but this winter has been a bit much, and I know you had 70 degree days while we were getting more snow. X(

  21. I wish there was a way to ship of that snow and ice over here. We're sliding into hot season, which is officially my least favorite thing ever. Anyway, enjoy your snow days and the excuse to cozy up with a hot drink and good book!
