If wishes were horses
Then beggars would ride... in Deutschland! The property price is unlisted, which lets you know how pricey this place is. I know most of the homes that I post on this blog are domestic but I just had to include this equestrian estate located 75 miles from Hamburg. The "cottage" was originally built in 1809 and looking at the exterior, you wouldn't expect complete remodel and upgrade on the interior. The inside of the house is warm, light and bright and such a pleasant surprise. The architectural details of the rooms - the rough hewn beams, arched doorways and spa - are eye popping. Other than the painstakingly manicured grounds, the home also comes with a world class equestrian stud farm called Gestut Famos. The indoor arena, with its glass enclosed viewing area, is really the cherry on the top.
PS - Those are the cleanest stables that I have ever seen. Someone must have went through with an industrial vacuum cleaner and gotten rid of everything except for the horses for this photo shoot.

Geeze, talk about a dream home!
ReplyDeleteOh la la! I love the arched doorways, solarium, and candle-lier. For some reason though, indoor pools creep me out. A ceiling over a body of water always feels like it's closing down on me. Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteoh, zee Germans. crazy peeps :)
ReplyDeleteoh my. oh my. oh my. I want. :)
ReplyDeleteThe exterior of the house reminds me of my father's family's farm in Germany. Rumor has it my grandfather came to the US be cause he was angry he wouldn't inherit the farm--it went to one of his sisters and her hubby.
ReplyDeleteThose would have to be the cleanest stables ever!
ReplyDeleteOh my. What an absolutely beautiful house and grounds. And yes, the stables are really clean someone obviously gave it a good scrub for the photoshoot.
ReplyDeleteI quite love the exterior, grounds, and stables . . . but the interior doesn't quite seem cozy enough. So I guess I'll pass. :)
ReplyDeleteHello indoor pool! This place is so picturesque, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love this place. The style of the houses in north Germany is fantastic. If I ever move back to Germany I want to live around Hamburg.
ReplyDeleteOh my.. I am in love.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little spooked by how finely manicured all the grounds are. And that those trees are all in a row like that! I love the interiors, but you're right, how come the stables are so clean??
ReplyDeleteThat dining room is just be beautiful - love the candle chandelier!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's amazing to me that places like this exist. That pool.... really?!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the stable - one could eat from the floor! Beautiful place! :-)

ReplyDeleteoh wow. how amazing. I especially love the candles over the table and swimming pool. I bet it's breathtaking in real life.
ReplyDeleteMy God! What a home. :D I scrolled through the images before I read your blog post... because well... they drew my attention immediately. I didn't even know the bottom picture was a stable until after reading -- because they really are THAT clean, haha. Beautiful home... and lawn.. perfection.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that they let the beams show in the design and that they paint them depending on the room to add extra accents– rather shows some sort of attention to detail, no wonder the property price isn't listed haha. Thanks for sharing! xx
ReplyDeleteUm, yes please. I love that dining (?) with the slate floor the best. Oh, and the pool.
ReplyDeleteOooooo lovely. I'll take it! Maybe one day.
