Serenity Sunday
Did y'all celebrate the last weekend of the Olympics in grand fashion? I'm at my parents' home this weekend and my mom woke us up this morning yelling that the gold medal basketball game was halfway over and to scoot our behinds out of bed to root on the USA. What was your favourite event during the past few weeks? I, for one, can't wait to see all of the snarky, hilarious comments on Twitter during the Closing Ceremony tonight.
Happy Sunday my dears and cheers to an ivy covered exterior and exposed brick interior. I wish you a Sunday full of sun-lit ceiling to floor windows, a warm homey kitchen with a rustic brick floor, covered porches and patios for wiling away the remaining warm evenings of the summer and pleasant dreams that will take you sailing gently into tomorrow.

what a wonderful looking place, massive! i've loved every minute of the olympics, esp the gymnastics anything involving cycling and volleyball
ReplyDeleteYou always post the best pictures of incredibly beautiful homes!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED watching volleyball and gymnastics!
Amazing house - love it! Oh, I think I´ve loved everything about the Olympics, it´s a treat to watch!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually watching the Olympics on TV right now. It's always sad for these events to end. After the soccer world cup ended here in 2010 - the whole country was depressed for, like a month! All that excitement fades and suddenly you have nothing to look forward to anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love this house!!
ReplyDeleteI have been so addicted to the Olympics; I rarely watch television, much less know anything about sports, but there's just spirit and energy about the Olympic games that has been so contagious. I watched almost all the soccer games, and got to the point where I could tell my boyfriend move-by-move. Needless to say, I am sad that today's the last day of the Games (although I'm sure my bf won't be missing my daily recap of the matches!)
ReplyDeleteI love the house you've featured here - it reminds me of some of the homes I used to drive by in the River Oaks area of Houston. We don't get these types of homes here in LA, but I love that kitchen, and the gray walls of the family room.
Cheers.
Happy Sunday to you too, although it might be too late now....hmmm.....anyhoo, I'm really sad that it's over:( What will I do with all the time now? Clean? Eeeeep! Anyhoo, another stellar house you've posted:)
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful house--and it has your pool! It's good that the ivy is on the outer wall and not the house. It's very pretty, but can ruin brick and mortar.
ReplyDeleteThe weekend highlights included a movie, dinner at Smokey Bones, and baking. The cake turned out really well.
Gymnastics has so many hold-your-breath and cringe moments that it's one of my favorites, but any closely contested event is interesting.
PS - I haven't gotten over the Olympics dropping baseball and softball.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I definitely enjoyed watching the closing ceremonies! So much more laid back and, well, chipper than the opening. XD
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely house - I really like the gate at the front. Gives it a really classy feel, without making it seem pretentious.
LOVE the exterior of this house. So neat and green!
ReplyDeleteLoving this home's exterior. I don't think you can get more classic than a red brick home covered in ivy. I also love the brick floors in the kitchen, but I am not sold on everything else being so modern.
ReplyDeleteI've got to admit that I really enjoyed the women's boxing! I am a real sucker for brick houses so I adore this! The white painted brick inside and the outside areas are my favourites!
ReplyDeletefantastic interior and exterior designs ☺

I did not watch the closing ceremony tough pics you shared are amazing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful place, love the interior !! :)
ReplyDeleteOmg this is so pretty, I like that everything is very classic and clean but the pool has some kind of modernism about it
ReplyDeleteFor some reason this is what I think of when I picture celebrity mansions in LA. I think the exposed beams on the ceiling and that ivy-covered entryway are iconic of that style of Hollywood home to me. I'd definitely move in there. It looks like it would always be cool and breezy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the closing ceremony. Let's be honest, the Spice Girls did it for me :)
Chanced upon your blog and enjoy reading it!
ReplyDeleteoooh, I'm loving the exposed brick in this house! I missed the closing ceremony on TV because I was out, but I'm hoping to catch it today!
ReplyDeleteLoved all of the Olympics and love an ivy covered facade! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteShamefully I didn't watched

Gosh, you really do find some spectacular homes! The black steel door in the sun room/media room (?) is stunning. In my dream home, all the doors and windows are black steel.

Gawd, can I please have the herringbone brick path leading to the curve entryway in the garden?
ReplyDeleteThis house I quite like. I'm not digging the furniture as much as the bones of the house itself, but me likey. And how did you find the closing ceremony? We were unimpressed, and yet we couldn't tear our eyes away.
ReplyDeleteLove this pictures ! Specially the last :)
