Finally, a reprieve

...From the freezing temps, and not a moment too soon.  Today was the first day of decent weather and sunshine we've had in ages, it feels like, and it's only going to get better from here on out.  Which is really good given that Ryon is starting to get blanket sores on his shoulders (he's a busty one, my boy is), and my knuckles are cracking from dipping my hand into ice cold buckets on a daily basis.  I know, whinge whinge whinge about the weather, but don't worry, come Friday I'll be humblebragging about how nice it is outside when it's in the 70s!  You can bet that everyone will be out and about this Valentine's Day, taking up every imaginable patio space to soak up the warm weather that has finally arrived in North Texas.  This transplanted Houston girl is still not used to how late the warm weather arrives.  Let's try and hold off the mosquitoes a little bit longer though, shall we?

Now who's ready for some ice cream?

  3. One benefit of our cold weather (and let's face it, I haven't minded) is that Neel thinks it might kill off some of the worst of our skeeters. Good lord, I hope so. I sense that spring is around the corner here too. Not quite yet, but drifting closer. :)

  4. What a difference a few hundred miles makes...up here we're snowed in under 6 inches! Oh wait, and it's still coming down, I just looked out the window. Yet ANOTHER snow day at home in sweatpants! xo

  5. It's supposed to be almost 50 here today, but then tomorrow it's supposed to dip back down into the 30s... and Saturday and Sunday will be mid-50s again. Mother Nature is crazy.

  6. Late? It's only mid-February!!! Clearly location has a lot to do with expectations.
Despite the cold, my two girls were eating ice cream and frozen strawberry bars last week. I guess they're ready. :)

  9. oh 70's sounds pretty divine about now. actually as i look out my window it's pretty nice but after the snow which turned to lots of brown gross slush it rained. and rained. and rained. if you want it to be nice when you come to portland your surest bet is after the 4th of july.
