Get away!

1: Everlane Weekender 2. GoRuck Civvy Kit 3. Qwstion Weekender 4. Filson Medium Duffle 5. Herschel Novel
To say I've been bitten by the travel bug is an understatement of the very worst kind.  If anything, I've been mauled by the Travel Shark.  He has taken me into his tremendously massive maw and torn my limbs asunder, flinging them into the surf in bits and pieces.  In between "serious work time," I browse tiny studio apartments for rent close to Notre Dame, B&Bs to sink into in Savannah and Charleston, cafes to stay awhile at in Belgium, and even beach & surf horseback rides on deserted islands.  And what with Lauren's trip to Greece, Freya's journey to Japan, and three of my coworkers' recent vacations to Germany, I'm feeling quite envious indeed.  I pack my imaginary bag with various fabulous yet casually chic vacation outfits, tuck my passport in my back pocket, and I'm ready to go.  And although packing is the very worst (honestly, it's worse than unpacking because then you can at least just throw everything in the laundry hamper), it can be improved a smidge by having the perfect bag.  So I'm enlisting your help in picking one out.  Which of the above is your very favourite?  Honestly, I'm leaning toward either #2 or #4 but want your opinion as well.

PS: There are a few travels that are coming up in my future and I can't wait to share those details with you very soon!

  1. Ooh, tough choice. I like #1 and #4. I do love to travel, especially if I get a chance to explore the city with someone local. Unfortunately, with two little kids, traveling like that will have to wait. It's not over though, just on hiatus. I can't wait to hear where you're thinking of going! Abroad? Do tell, and blog all the juicy fun you have on your journeys.

  2. The Filson one for sure. And I'm told those bags last forever.:)

  3. This is very interesting because as it happens my duffel (a Fossil bag that was a gift from my mom) died on our flight from Greece to Rome). I have a mini retreat I'm heading to in August, so... thanks for doing my shopping for me! :) Personally, and this is on looks alone, I like 1 and 5. But I need to do more research.

  4. Ooohhh, you mean "get away" as in going somewhere. My mind jumped to a different meaning when I saw the post title. lol

    I like #4.

  5. I'd say either #3 or #4, because they have a shoulder strap, and that's imperative with long distance travel! Nothing is less fun than schlepping your heavy bag by hand through a crowded airport. xo

  6. The dog is my favorite :) So I choose #2. I do love to travel but I really hate the packing part. I always wait until the last minute and then I pack way too much but forget the most important things.

  7. I choose 2 or 3 but I am a huge fan of trying out the bag before you buy.... shopping in person lol. because it has to have the right feel.

  8. I'm partial to 5.

Travel shark? Yeah, you described my life. Any trips on the horizon for you?

  9. I really like 1 and 3. Leaning more towards 3 though. I feel you on that travel bug tho. The only board that I update daily on my pinterest is my wanderlust board. Most of it is usually pertaining to Europe too. Sigh.

I may be taking a trip back home to my island home early next year if I can scrounge up enough cash. I can't wait to hear about where you're traveling to!

  10. Can't wait to hear where you're going! I love all the bags, actually. Even the white one though it'd get dirty :).

  11. I like 1 and 3. I recently got a stripey one from that Saturday shop that has been working well enough for my travels.

  15. I'm with ya (I'll take bag #5, if you wouldn't mind). My co-worker got back from Denmark a couple weeks ago; she came into work on Tuesday to announce she'd be leaving for Paris the next morning. And she's my kind of traveler, so her pictures are simply lovely. Sigh.

  16. I actually prefer packing than unpacking :')
I'd go for #5 though! Xx

  17. I would usually go for a 50 liter backpack or a trolley luggage but if I were to choose, I pick #5. My family is in Germany for my sister's wedding which is happening today and I'm so envious for not being able to attend due to work and the recently ended maternity leave so I'm going to have to live with the green eyed monster until the next possible adventure.

  18. I'm going with #4 or #5. The white one look great but it might get dirty easily so I'll say no then, lol. I have this in mind too to buy a new travel bag.
Anyway, have a nice travel for you! Can't wait to your travel post! x
