Some of us have just been caught
At the wrong time, in the wrong light.
We did not mean to snarl, snap, snip or even bite.
Our bad manners, bad behavior
Surely we know better, you've taught us better.
I slink back into my cave
To patiently wait out my transformation
Until you couldn't even imagine a time
When I was a monster.
Ah, if only I could say this doesn't describe my behaviour at times...but it does. It so does.

ReplyDeleteGreat writing! The transformation has, at times, been embarrassing. But I am uncivilized enough to have enjoyed it on occasion....time and a place for everything. Although at least once I wanted to crawl into a hole and die (I was a teenager).
