Lentils for dinner

Society6
She was sick of lentils.
He was sick of hearing about it.
"Why can't we eat something else?
Something with feta, with olives, with flavor?"
"Why does she complain about every thing?
Can't she ever be happy with anything?"
She continued to complain and
he continued to ignore it.

Until one day
she said
"I love you for how you don't sweat the small stuff,
like eating lentils every day."
and he said
"I love you for always trying to make things better
and noticing everything that can be improved."
And they both ate something different for dinner that night.

  4. Hey! I already know I was being a baby about this past weekend!!! But I guess it never hurts to be reminded that our attitude is often just a matter of how we choose to look at things.

  7. Ah, perspective. You know, I read once that it's not about compromise, but creative cooperation, finding a brand new solution that's good for both sides. This feels like a poem about creative cooperation. Cheers!
