Modern museum
A modern setting for vintage furnishings and art is always such a fun contrast to see in action. I don't know where I would begin in pulling together a cohesive design but the owners of this home have done it quite effectively. Personally, I wouldn't be able to live in a home that has as many pieces of art in it as this one does. Things would be bound to break and get cluttered and dusty under my care but I really appreciate the neat and organized display in this house. Particularly the kitchen - the kitchenware looks like ancient artifacts. Also, the polished concrete (?) floors on the first floor are just gorgeous. This home is in the South and is likely to get hot in a hurry so the cool floors are a relief I'm sure. It's the practical things in a home for me, obviously.
I actually really like! It's very pretty in a unique way. Imagine the story behind each piece.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Blogger won't allow me to comment on your previous post...butttt...that Pomsky is ADORABLE! When they day comes that I can have my own little pooch, I think that may be it. :)
Looks rustic and homey - I like it! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh MY! Amazing. I LOVE the doors and windows on the interior of the house.
ReplyDeleteAnd that rug. So beautiful.
Thank you for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have to agree with you, as pretty as this is, I'd be afraid of so much artwork in my house. But it's sure nice to look at. I love, love the chandelier over the dining room table.
I'm loving all the poured concrete counters, both in the kitchen and the bathroom. Those front doors are to. die. for.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is this house! Love the dining area. I bet you the owners don't have kids:P
ReplyDeletewhat a great place! with wooden floors and more cushions, i could imagine myself there.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny--I thought about the dust as well! :) But it really is amazing how it remains homey. I love the entry, doors, fireplace, and dining room table . . .
ReplyDeleteI seriously lost my composure when I saw those stairs and that wood table. What a phenomenal space!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the new blog design looks wildly awesome!
So when are we moving in?

ReplyDeleteAgreed that it would be crazy to take care of though. =)
What a great mix of modern and antique pieces of furniture and architecture. It is a truly stunning houes - the concrete kitchen, the stone basin I just love all these hard finishes.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and inspiration, thanks!
