Serenity now
The front of this home is deceptive - it looks like a little country cottage. Probably 1,500 square feet, two bedrooms, one bath. This is one of the better examples of not judging a book by its cover. This snug little house is actually almost 4,000 square feet and sits on a quarter of an acre. And once inside, it keeps unfolding, like an origami embodiment of serenity. The quirky features, like the light fixtures in the formal living room, split level breakfast area, grandiose fireplaces in the den and bedroom and that walk-in shower, only highlight how this home was designed to comfort its owners and ease them into a setting of tranquility and peace. And we could all use a little more tranquility and peace in our lives. Here's to wishing you both of those things throughout this upcoming week.
Wow, gorgeous! And I actually REALLY like the outside of the home, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo spacious & bright... I really like the dinning area too. :)
I'd love to hear more about what home YOU'D like to own someday. I'm sure you have got to have defined your taste by now with all these inspirational home posts. :D
This is a very spacious home.I like the turquoise crockery cabinet in the dining area combined with the louvers. Is that an acrylic coffee table?
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of amazing – and beautiful. I'm not sure if I could live in a house like this, but I'm enamoured with how serene and bright everything is. These are the white walls I need at home! Thanks for sharing!! (:
ReplyDeleteIt´s a Narnia house! You open the doors and whoa... It´s HUGE! I love how it´s a mix of everything, there´s not one decided style throughout the house.
ReplyDeleteThat shower is humungous, you could have parties in there! Also love the kitchen. Who can say no to white cabinets with marble counters? The orange Keep calm and carry one poster is a good way to bring color to the space and also a great motto to live by.
ReplyDeleteLOVEEEE this house. You're right..the quirky features are pretty great. I think it would be awesome to have a fireplace in the bedroom as well.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! The outside is deceiving!!! That's a huge house.
ReplyDeleteman, you find the best homes!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I could live there. My dad was an architect by trade and built this one mansion that looked deceptively small from the outside but was 9000sf or something insane. That's the mark of good design!
ReplyDeleteYeah from the facade it looks small.
ReplyDeleteLove the interiors of the house
so spacious and bright.
I love the dining room.
Usually I'm a big fan of white in homes, but for some reason this one looks a bit stark and cold. I totally love that pool though! I know I could use more tranquility in my life.
ReplyDeleteLove the light fixtures, but overall the feel of the furnishings are a bit formal for me. BUT! I'd be moving in and they'd be moving out, so....
ReplyDeleteStill, a bit big. A bit formal. Sweet though. I could handle the pool and the bathroom quite nicely!
Such a pretty house - loved it both from the outside and inside. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo cute from the outside. I really like all of the white walls and the fabric on the chairs (the textured white and the lavender) is really nice! Hope you have a calm week as well!
ReplyDeleteI can only think the army you need to clean this house... Hahah!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that back room is INSANE! I just love the wall of windows! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh my. What a fun & unexpected home!
ReplyDeleteThat IS deceptively expansive. I mean that bathroom alone...
ReplyDeleteWow! Think of all the stuff i can do with all that space!!! I love that's it's a single storey house, i can never understand the concept of having to climb a flight of stairs to get to my bed!
ReplyDeleteInsanity later! It's crazy how big that house is--OMGosh, is it a Tardis??? I've heard the Tardis has a pool. :)
ReplyDeleteoh, can you imagine reading out on that porch when it rains.... xxo
ReplyDeleteThe Keep Calm and Carry On print in the kitchen is nice! It pops out! Hahaha I like it ;)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I'd love to live here!
