Where is this spring you speak of?

Just when we thought we escaped the clutches of winter, it circled back again to throw us all off.  Brr, we had to break out the blankets at the barn again and I'm surprised that none of the horses have gotten sick due to the weather yet.  Come on, it's past the middle of March already.  Okay, enough whinging about the weather.  I hope everyone had a lovely spring-y weekend and ended up joining in on some sort of St. Patty's day celebration.  I made my quinoa and spinach tomatillo enchiladas as the token "green" food on Saturday but sadly, no Guinness cupcakes or Irish soda bread.

This week's home, originally built in 1927, has one of the most charming front doors that I've ever seen and no lack of windows.  In fact, the sunroom sitting area wins the award for place that I would most likely be curled up with a book or taking a nap on a sunny afternoon.  The house also comes with separate guest quarters - now all it needs is a pool in the backyard to make it complete.

  1. That door is everything.

PS I think we have more snow coming over here, and our weekend was freezing too....sigh....

  2. I woke up to a chilly morning this morning. Can I rub it in and say that I haven't had a winter since last year March? It's going to be one hell of a shock but thankfully no ice, snow or darkness in Sydney. This home, it sings to me! (errm not sure where that came from but I am going with it).

  3. O to the M to the Gee... that front door! And guest quarters! Just what I'm looking for! Love this place. Our spring is misbehaving too. Sleet, rain and wind today. Miserable.

  4. Ah, see . . . this is the kind of house I'd love, love, love to call home.

As for winter winding it's way back around: here too, apparently. While the weekend was completely lovely, today's high (HIGH!) is only supposed to be 49! That's just rude . . .

  5. The rugs throughout the entire house are just THE WORST. So tacky! Which is weird because the rest of the place has a pretty good style vibe. I'm hoping it was just an overeager home stager :) xo

  10. The house has room for so many books!!! You're absolutely right about the front door, it's terrific.

My inside sources tell me spring will be here on Friday. :)

  11. PS - I usually don't like enchiladas--those I've had were all too salty. But I'm sure I would have enjoyed what you made.

  13. A home with guest quarters .... niiiiiiice! As much as I love making snowmen, I am sooo ready for spring weather (not the It's spring and still 20 degrees out, but the "I can go outside without gloves" temps).
