Ciao bella
Hello from your favourite lobster! I sat outside for an hour and a half and I'm now burnt to a crisp, even after the sunscreen. It was my little bit of a beachy escape, even if it was in the middle of the concrete jungle.
Believe it or not, this Italian villa that looks like it's set in the sunny Mediterranean is actually less than five miles from my place. And can we just talk about the kitchen? I think it might have my previous favourite "library" house beat for best room of 2013 because it's seriously tops. Barrel vaulted ceiling. Gigantic island. Gleaming white subway tile and a gourmet stove. It looks a little bit steampunky and a little bit rustic. Sigh sigh sigh.
After seeing that kitchen, I'm not even blown away by that perfect outdoor shower and pool set in the lush green grass. Or even slightly impressed by the white Calcutta marble bath tub. Okay maybe just a smidge impressed.

Love the stone walls and that brick ceiling...what great features! Hope you're well and not too lobster-like.
ReplyDeleteHi Lobster! Pictures of your lobster state would be tres amusing! That kitchen! Oh that kitchen!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a representative of the pale, it's not a bad state of being. Be one of us! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe body paint works better than sunscreen. Did you get burned at the concert last summer? Be kind to your outer shell...hope the burn's not too painful.
Sorry about the sunburn :( No fun at all.
ReplyDeleteYep...I'm super impressed as well. This is my perfect kitchen...I've always wanted a gigantic island to prop the babies up on while I'm cooking/baking. Guess I'll just have to buy this house.
Gaaaah! That kitchen! That's a piece of heaven....seriously.
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry about the sunburn too, but I guess that's what summer's all about:P
wow that house is divine. i can't even..what it must be like to live there! and we all become lobsters at some point in our lives, haha hope it's not too bad!

I love the interior courtyard and that kitchen ceiling! It's a big grand for my taste overall, but maybe that's a trick of the lens. xo
ReplyDeleteThat entire place is AMAZING (the ceiling!) but I cannot get over that TUB, wow.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You've reminded me I NEED to wear sunscreen today when I go out to tan.

ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful place... love the really high ceilings!
ReplyDeleteThis villa is sick! I didn´t expect it to be so grand looking from the outside... but wow!
ReplyDeleteoh my what a house! that kitchen ceiling is gorgeous and the outside is amazing. i like the furnishings too - it fits the house but it isn't so traditional. and that tub, holy moly!
ReplyDeleteWow, this house. And that bathroom! *swoon* Glad to hear you're making the most of the urban jungle and the heat :)
ReplyDeleteI love the barrel vaulted ceiling, but what I really love about this is the doors with the knobs in the center. Some day I will have that! Maybe I'll buy this one instead of the affordable one that resembles a crack-den. ;)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine holding a big party in this stunning kitchen since it's so open to the living area. I'm crazy about courtyards and the lawn is breathtaking! Happy to hear you're enjoying the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteUgh sunburn :(
ReplyDeleteThat house is divine!
That kitchen is definitely my favorite part! That ceiling makes me swoon! Oh, my . . .
ReplyDeleteI have a wee bit of a burn, myself. I need to get some coconut oil! I've heard it does wonders in keeping the good stuff in (Vitamin D), while keeping the bad stuff out (burns).
What?! Ruth, your new neighborhood is kind of amazing huh? The ceiling and subway tiles in the kitchen alone win me over.
ReplyDeletethe courtyard and the pool!!!!! it's amazing, i'm dying !!!!
