I wish it were a little bit smaller
You bloggers are truly wonderful. Every post that I write, you always have something lovely, comforting and inspiring to say. And often times, it's something hilarious. Like when Jeanine of I Heart Interiors tactfully points out that every cute little 'cottage' that I post on my weekly Hey Homeys costs a few million dollars and is over 3,000 square feet. Well Jeanine, today's home is for you. An adorable 1935 bungalow - only around 1,300 square feet this time. Beautiful wood floors, vaulted ceilings and a truly quaint kitchen. And let's talk about the super eclectic furnishings? Separately it's not my style but together, it works for me. And the backyard definitely has potential.

I like! I like! Even though I want the millions (with diamonds, cars and frivolous spending), I can never quite imagine myself in sprawling mansions but I can imagine myself here. Although I would have to get rid of that oven, it's practically the size of a small car!!
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen and the back garden are definitely my favourites. I'm not a bit fan of the decoration, but I agree that it definitely has potential. And you have to dream big anyway, where would all the horses go otherwise?!
ReplyDeleteits so cute! i love the ceilings a lot!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, it even has a brick wall {I'd totally redo the kitchen, I'm not sure why the drawers overhang the cabinet below but that would bother me}. I have to say, you out did yourself with this one. It's 1,300 sf and it even has a second living room!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow if you could only find me one for 100k less and in eastern MA. :)
Love! Because of the layout, it looks bigger than it really is:) And definitely some potential with that backyard.
ReplyDeleteOoh, those blue glass handles in the kitchen are great! But where's the office for blogging? I suppose I could write in that awesome backyard...
ReplyDeleteWhile the way the homeowner's have decorated this house may not be my style, the bones of the house certainly is! The raised ceiling makes it look so much larger than it actually is.
ReplyDeleteI really like the shape of the ceiling in the family/living room! Growing up I always dreamed of living in a huge house, now I just want a small house, but with lots of land!
ReplyDeleteThose vaulted ceilings make such a fabulous statement!
ReplyDeletewhoa, neon orange cowhide rug! i'd say minus that i am all in. i love the living room beams and fireplace. i also really love the artwork around the house, especially in the second to last photo.
ReplyDeleteLove the ceilings, wow!
ReplyDeleteI wish there was more distance between the front door and the fireplace, but I like it--and the stove has to stay! :)
ReplyDeleteThe scale of this house is much more to my style/liking (I'm with Jeanine, apparently!). The ceilings are stunning and the floors are drop-dead gorge. How in the world did they end up with an exposed brick wall? Is that a bedroom? And yes to the backyard. :)

Looks like Jeanine has thrown another challenge your way!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe what a difference those bright blue pulls make in the kitchen.
Interesting home! I kinda like the eclecticness ;)
ReplyDeleteHey! This is only a few 100 square feet bigger than my current apartment. Though... much nicer.
