November is nigh

I sincerely hope that you all are hopped up on candy right now and that the candles in your jack o' lanterns are still burning but melting into a tiny puddle of wax.  Any cute trick or treaters stop by?  The cutest costume I heard about today was a co-worker's daughter who was dressing up as Spiderkitten.  As in Spiderman, except for a kitten with spidey superpowers instead of Peter Parker.  I really can't believe that October is coming to a close and it'll be November tomorrow!  I'm getting excited just thinking about it (or maybe that's just the sugar) and I've already bought my first batch of holiday cards.  November, the month with my favourite holiday.  The lead up to Christmas and all the festivities.  And the food.  Let the Thanksgiving experimentation commence in earnest!

What are you looking forward to this November?

We wish you a happy Halloween!

  2. Hope you and Ike had a nice Halloween--only treats, no tricks. I'm considering making reservations for Thanksgiving dinner instead of cooking. That would be a huge change.

November!!!! Blergh! Time to send my step-mother a check. (j/k, I do that every month and it's never a surprise :).

  3. Still tired from trick-or-treating last night. It was raining here the whole day though, so little E only went out for a bit, and I ended up just with the middle child the whole night, getting as much candies as he could:D
Hope u had a great one.

  4. A wee Clark Kent--his bangs formed a curl on his forehead, black glasses, a wee dress shirt and jacket . . . then, his parents would say, "Josiah, who are you?" and he'd pull open his shirt (under which was a shirt with an S on it) and hold out his arms like he was ready to fly! More cuteness than I could stand . . .

And yeah for November! I love that you've already purchased your cards. I'm planning to do the same in the next week or so! :)

  5. Our best costume was a pre-teen dressed as Napoleon Dynamite. The best story was of a little preschool girl, who, near the end night saw that a woman's candy bowl was nearly empty so she dumped her own Halloween Bucket out into the bowl. Now *that's* generosity!

  7. I'm so pumped for November. The first night of Hanukkah falls on Thanksgiving this year (which is so rare and I don't think it will happen again for a thousand years or something) which is just exciting me to no end. Look at you on your horse! You look so teeny! xo

  10. yay november! november used to be my least favorite month because it was always the one where everything that could go wrong went wrong but now it's moved to september i think. so i can officially be excited about it! i am so excited to start getting excited for the thanksgiving and christmas (i am not there yet, again, its been so nice here i am still stuck in summer!! this never happens). and this fall season is moving so quickly, or maybe that's just how time feels when it isn't raining and dark constantly haha. i do know i seriously need to start getting things ready now or else i am going to be in trouble! have a great weekend friend! and ike too! xo

  11. I'm not ready for November! I miss October already, but tally-ho I suppose...
Your holiday card purchase just freaked me out in a good way. Thanks for zapping me into productivity. You can bet I'll be making a holiday prep to-do/bucket list this afternoon. Ah!

  12. We only got two trick-or-treaters last night and one family told us "all the action" was down the hill about 3 blocks from us. Apparently trick-or-treaters aren't fans of walking up SF's giant hills.

November is one of my favorite months, too, and Thanksgiving is hands down my fave holiday! This year, I'll be spending it in Mexico shooting a wedding though, so it'll be a little different than usual but definitely something I'm looking forward too. :) Happy November!

  15. Gorgeous horse! :-) Oh, I hope November will be fun but usually I think it´s a boring month - stuck in between of beautiful October and eventful December. We´ll see I guess. :-)

  17. Hope you had a wonderful Halloween! It was interesting to see the sugar high kids running around in costumes in our neighborhood this weekend. Can't believe 2013 is almost over.

  18. I can't decide if this is the best or worst time to want to get back into fitness. So much food... but maybe that's when it's most necessary.

  19. Spiderkitten -- how creative! The best costume I saw was a minion from Despicable Me. It had a over-the-head head piece and everything. The hubs also showed me a video on Facebook where a kid in an Optimus Prime costume can actually transform into a semi. You got holiday cards already?! What show offs ;). I'm lucky if I mail them out days before Christmas.
