Treehouse of un-horror

Sadly, there's not much to say about my weekend, as I spent most of it in the office, but hey - the Longhorns beat the Sooners so I will TAKE IT.  Hook'em Horns!  We were by far the underdogs and you can betcher buttons I'm going to be lording this over my OU coworkers for the rest of the year, at least.  Also, A big thank you to everyone who has been asking after Ike.  His foot is healing very nicely and I even took him on a ride tonight.

The house featured this week is one of the coolest I've posted on my blog.  It's almost as if someone took the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse and turned it into a real home.  There are so many windows - big, big panes of glass - that you may as well be living in the trees.  Can you imagine all the creativity that this home inspires?  I kind of hope the owner is an artist or writer or carpenter because to me, this house just screams CREATE SOMETHING.  What would this house inspire you to do, if it was your home?

  2. Congrats on the Longhorns! That was a nice surprise. This is a very cool house.
I like both of the fireplaces--we never had one of those in our forts or tree forts (although we tried to include one in an underground fort). I know from watching old Mel Gibson movies that there is an emergency escape hatch that leads down into the crawl-space...and perhaps a tunnel, as well. :)

  6. Oh, my . . . I'm pretty sure if I lived there I'd pen the Great American Novel . . . probably in my spare time, over a weekend.

And so glad to hear Ike is getting better!

  7. Well, first off, Ike feeling better is the best news, and second that house is pretty awesomesauce. I love it. Well, spiral staircases freak me out, but other wise, yes. I have always wanted a house where you had to walk down one of those little walkways to get to it, and those floor to ceiling windows are to die for. Love.

  8. This honestly seems like something out of a movie set, not a real home! I'm a city mouse, so all that greenery is making me anxious, haha, but I do love it and I bet it would be such a quiet retreat. Put a desk right in front of one of those enormous windows and scribble away! So happy Ike is doing better! xo

  10. so happy ike is feeling better. which i am hoping translates to no more maggots. have you ever seen the show 'the monster inside me'? oh, it's scary, all about parasites.

now for this house. i would love nothing more than for this to be my little woodsy retreat. those windows are amazing! and you'd never guess from the exterior that the interior had such a tree house vibe.
