19th Century Dream

Serenity now... woooosahhhh.  Stretching my back, cracking my neck, and generally imitating all cat-like behavior.  I ran out of cookies and am left eating multi-grain, high fiber crackers.  Not exactly the best stress eating type food.  Is it really only the middle of the week?

Maybe we could all run away to this beautiful home built in 1899.  The furniture and decor really isn't my style but, how do I love thee, let me count the ways.  (1) Sleek, rich hardwoods throughout.  (2) Wine tasting room with barrel vaulted ceiling and cozy fireplace.  (3) Bright blue retro stove.  (4) Guest house!  I'm always a sucker for a guest house and this one even has a fireplace.  I mean, we could also talk about how cute the architectural features are throughout but I'll let you discover those on your own.

  2. Of use the guest house to limit germ sharing during cold and flu season--which seems to be year-round! Areas of the Smithdonisn Castle have barrel-vaulted ceilings...very cool.

Is it time for French wafer cookies or go you need something with more oomph???

  4. The rooms are all pretty tiny and cozy, which I happen to love. Also: THAT. STOVE. That's the kind of stove that would change my non-cooking ways! xo

  5. I pretty much agree with everything you've said and all the prior comments too. I'm so drawn to that guest house; I just love tiny spaces. LOVE. But let's move that stove in there, pleaseandthankyou. :)

  6. I would live there but I would need a maid and a cook and maybe someone to cut firewood and trend to the fireplace.

hope you have a good day.

  7. i am with you, this place is gorgeous! while i do love modern, i also really love a good historic home filled with charm and those southern porches. now we just need to make a chain and move that furniture out of there and some new stuff in. except the cottage can stay as is, don't you think? so cute! i just want to snuggle in there all day. i am a huge sucker for guest houses. i could see myself buying a total dump of a house someday just because it had a really cute guest house. but that's not the problem here is it. oh and i LOVE that vintage aga stove. amazing.

  15. It's funny that this house seems really narrow for it's height but I love the porches, the floors, that stairway and also the barrel vaulted ceiling. Totally agree about the furniture, but as long as it leaves with the previous owner, everything is okay. :)
