  2. That's why I was amused when I thought I was about to be attacked by the guy from the Green Mile. What a story to leave behind!!! lol

But more seriously, what do you do when you achieve amazing success at a young age? How do you top it? What do you do with the rest of your life? Better to burn out brightly and quickly. In the original StarTrek, there was a brilliant scientist named Daystrom. He had been a boy wonder but grew frustrated that in middle-age he wasn't able to exceed the accomplishments of his youth. He ended up, "lecturing to rows of fools trying to build upon my work, MY WORK!!!!" He went nuts. There's really no comparison, but my wife jokingly calls me the Daystrom of the Smithsonian. lol

  8. I was just saying to my husband yesterday that I wish I could open my eyes and have it be December already - he strongly scolded me for wishing my life away. I need this reminder every once in a while. Thanks Rooth!

  10. In 6th grade we got to pick from a few books we wanted to read. All the boys in class picked White Fang, and all the girls picked something else. I picked White Fang, and I'm so glad I did. Love Jack London.

  11. "The function of man is to live, not to exist". I'll be repeating this in my head the next time I think a reality TV marathon is a good idea :-)
