Short week ahead
It's the best type of Sunday a gal can have, the Sunday before a short work week that leads to a summer vacation! What's a beautiful weekend when there's an entire long week of sun and surf to look forward to, not to mention family. The only thing that I'm worried about is not having a long enough book to read.
Can I just say that I really like the wooden ceilings in this little bungalow? They make the house feel warm, rustic and all the things that make a house homey. I could use a cottage like this down by the sea. It's cozy and bright and I wouldn't even feel bad about tracking sand in and onto those gleaming white subway tiles in the master bath.
PS - I love when I find a "real" home that isn't staged. Check out the paper towel rolls stored above the fridge in the kitchen.

ReplyDeleteI hope you'll have a fantastic time with your family and lots of sunshine! That's a really lovely home and I do like the white walls, wood ceiling and dark trimmings - warm and elegant at the same time. Have a great week xo

I love it and totally agree about the ceilings! I would try to buy it if it was near me.
ReplyDeleteThe vacation is well-timed, you're going to have a blast! (I'm happy for you, but plan to be jealous for at least a month.) That kitchen sink is a modern version of the one my parents had--it's now sitting in my father-in-law's basement. We installed a new one before selling the house and my wife couldn't bear to part with the old one. Her dad was SO thrilled to get custody of it. LOL! Oh, and that closet is amazing. I usually care nothing about closets, but even I love that one.
ReplyDeletei love that feeling of coming off of a weekend, having a short week and then zooming off to vacay! hope you have a great time!
ReplyDeleteIs that last photo just a closet?! It's the size of our NYC bedroom - damn!
ReplyDeleteThe ceilings are a bit too dark/oppressive for me, but I bet it keeps the place cool in the summer months! I love that kitchen sink. xo
ReplyDeleteI find the combination of white walls, wooden ceiling and dark framing appealing. With summer vacation just a few sleeps away, you must be so excited. :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Rooth!
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love how this house has that lived-in feel:)

ReplyDeleteagree with you 100% on this little cozy 'cottage'! ;)
ReplyDeletehave a great summer vacation!
The ceiling makes it more cozy! I feel like it can be less hotter inside because of it :D
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things I love about this house. The ceilings, the bathroom, the old sink in the kitchen and the closet, with its old wooden drawers. Enjoy your short week and enjoy your vacation even more!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a cozy little cottage. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAnd have a fabulous time on your trip!
Am I allowed to say AGAIN that this might be my favorite yet? I love bungalows. The color palette is great. The beams are stunning. I love the throw pillows in front of the tv so much (been on the hunt) that I might try to find a way to contact them, and I'm even considering storing my paper towels above the fridge.
ReplyDeleteI think this may just be my favorite of all the homes you've shared, and I can't even really put my finger on why that is...
