I never hear the word "Escape"

I never hear the word "Escape" by Emily Dickinson

I never hear the word “Escape”
Without a quicker blood,
A sudden expectation –
A flying attitude!

I never hear of prisons broad
By soldiers battered down,
But I tug childish at my bars
Only to fail again!

  3. I can never read Emily Dickinson without thinking *about* Emily Dickinson and her life. I haven't decided if that's good or bad.
