Your mission, if you choose to accept it
Is to find something wrong with this home. This is actually a bit absurd to me; I can't believe that a house like this exists in Houston, particularly with the proliferation of grand old Louisiana style homes in the area. This mission-style home reminds me almost of a castle, particularly the great room. And what a great room it is, with those heavy rafters and chandeliers dripping from the ceiling. There's also something really funky about having windows inside a home but I think for me, it just adds to the grandeur. That and the indoor Romeo and Juliet balcony.
I'll look for something more budget-friendly this week but I couldn't resist sharing this one. Happy Monday!

It IS a beautiful place, and so spacious! I´d love to have a really big home (if I don´t have to clean it myself)! :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that home! The only thing that makes me a little uneasy is that chandelier above the bed. But I think that's because I live in California and I have a fear of earthquakes. In Texas, it's the perfect detail. :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby would love to live here!! He loves houses with beams like that! Sigh...Ruth, you're killing me with all these home pics!:P
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Check out that pool! And that kitchen! Insane! I knew there were same crazily huge houses in Houston, but this one is too big to be true!!!
ReplyDeletegah! you're killin' me with these homes! i love it all, the exterior lighting is so nice!

I failed on this mission! Couldn't find one thing wrong with it. Perfection? Maybe... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a mansion! So getting that when i win the lotto...ha!
ReplyDeleteThose hardwoods are gorgeous! This reminds me of the style you often see in other parts of Texas, because you're right, Houston has more of a "Southern" influence on style than other cities in the state. What neighborhood is this in? (I grew up in Houston)

One of these days I am going to put a couch at the foot of my bed.
ReplyDeleteI kinda love it . . .
ReplyDeleteIn large homes like these, I usually feel like I could never even own enough things to fill them! The open floor plan is gorgeous, though. :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh. this really might be one of the most beautiful homes i've ever seen. i don't even know what i like best. the ceilings? the hardwood floors? all of the open space? so nice.
ReplyDeleteThe inside R + J balcony .. I love it! Hmmm, wonder if they use it in place or a telecom system to annouce arrival of guests ... or the 'don't forget to buy milk'. I LOVE the fireplace wall ... eyeing it for my own home :)
ReplyDeleteOk... I'm drooling over here! How gorgeous can a house get?!? I was going to accept your mission, until you mentioned the R +J balcony... Then I knew there was no chance. More affordable is good, but these are perfect for dreaming.
ReplyDeletei love those high ceilings... i want them high to have a canopy bed... haha!
ReplyDeleteman.... i'm super jealous of the owners who live in that house O__O
