Why diets don't start in the fall
It's not really fall yet but the blogosphere is already rife with fall colours, inspirations, fashions and food. If you've been following my blog for the past year, you'll remember that I'm always a bit down on fall. Yeah yeah, I know the weather gets cooler but the days get shorter as well.
However, this year (oh alright, every year) I am eagerly anticipating the fooooood. Pumpkin-this, buffalo wing-that, toss in some cheesiness, mix with a thick, hearty stew and VOILA - an extra 30 pounds. Blast you food bloggers and your wily ways of making me enjoy the changing of the seasons. If you've been following my Instagram account (@roothers), you'll notice that there has been a proliferation of fatty fat fat fall-type foods lately. I've included above snapshots of:

Blast you food bloggers and your wily ways of making me enjoy the changing of the seasons. If you've been following my Instagram account (@roothers), you'll notice that there has been a proliferation of fatty fat fat fall-type foods lately. I've included above snapshots of:
- Gooey pumpkin coffee cake that I served to book club. And then served to myself later that night. And this morning
- Truck stop enchiladas with brisket that will bust the buttons off your pants
- Vegetarian lasagna with broccolini if you're looking for a healthier, yet still hearty, alternative
- Banana nana mini muffins for those of us who keep black bananas in our freezers just waiting for a recipe like this
And the title font was made with the sweet potato chili that I made on Monday. Nom. Looks like I'm gonna need a bigger pair of pants.
i love fall and can't wait till it hits NYC full force :)

Simply amazing! You're talented in the kitchen. As you know, I can mess up a box cake mix. Oh well, we're all gifted in different ways, right? Some (you) just seem to be gifted in more ways than others (me). LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're seeing the bright side to autumn. I have to admit I'm a sucker for all the stereotypical sights, sounds and smells of the season. I never miss the Charlie Brown Halloween special.
On a more literal bright side, our government extended daylight savings time for you a few weeks beyond it's traditional end date...so you get a little more sun. Does that help a little?
OMG pumpkin...makes me think of the pumpkin spice latte from starbucks...a major reason diets start never for me! :)

ReplyDeleteNow you have me wondering of there is anywhere within London EC4A where I can get enchiladas for lunch... Om nom nom nom.

ReplyDeleteSweet potato chili? YUUUUUMMMM. I've never heard that before and it sounds SO delicious! And don't forget all the spicy hotpot-like meals where they throw more chilies than the meat. Oh. And Ramen. The best.
