Hollywood glamour

Well I don't know about y'all but I think I've seen enough stars, glitz, glamour and sparkle after this Oscar Sunday to be good until NYE.  Is it just me or were the dresses this year a little more metallic-y than usual?  I believe this little home that I'm featuring today is definitely award-worthy and would have been perfect for hosting an Oscar-themed party.  This is one sleek, sophisticated abode with mid-century mod style just pouring from its expansive windows.  Pour me a martini, Jeeves, and I'll gladly sink into the velvet sofa in the "den" (don't you think den is a bit of a bland word to use for such a fab room as this?).  Or maybe a margarita whilst lounging poolside is more your preference?  If you're feeling a bit peckish, just pop on into the kitchen and rustle up some scrambled eggs cooked on that enormous stove (double ovens, swoon).

In any case, going for a cool $1.2 million, I don't think I'll be placing my acting trophies* on the mantle here anytime soon but a girl can dream, can't she?

*I'd also have to start acting.  And be good at it.  I think buying the house would be more likely than that happening.

  1. I completely missed the Oscars, but believe you on the metallic and colorful ball gowns. I walked in just in time to see the ending credits :p

The house has quite a price tag! I really only liked the look and feel of the bathroom, but it seems a bit too contemporary for my tastes. What room was your favorite?

  2. I slept through the Oscars but I am catching up on the action right now! I am not sure if the hefty price tag on this place is justified but I can see myself spending every waking moment in that garden!

  5. Oh, ONLY 1.2 million? That's chump change!

And yes, I missed the Oscars. But I'm not entirely sad about it. I prefer to see who won and what they wore the next day.

  6. Look how spacious the whole house looks. And I love the pool too:) Great pick, Rooth!
And yes, the Oscar dresses...too many neutrals too I think. At least, Jane Fonda stood out with her gown!

  8. I only watched some of the Oscars, but I'd rather watch things like this! I love the little tiled niche next to the bathtub. I could soak in there for a good long time...
Also, talk about curb appeal! I love the front of the house.

  12. oh wow, what a fab home! my favourites would be the HUGE windows in the sitting room and the cosy bedroom.

No, I didn´t see the Oscars, but heard that Anne Hathaway´s dress was a bit pointy?

  13. I'd have to say the kitchen & backyard are my favorite! :)

I didn't watch the Oscars but I did look up the fashion & award winners afterwards. And you're right -- a lot of metallic dresses. Lots of silver & golds. I think Jennifer Aniston looked the best in that gorgeous red gown though. :)

  14. It looks more like a kitchen extension than a den, I do love that velvet sofa though!

Oscars? I tend to find out about these award shows after the fact. Here, they really are only playing Ben Affleck over and over since he's from Boston. I think I saw 3 dresses.

  17. I didn't watch the Oscars because I am not much into award shows. Only like the red carpet part but this time I didn't even watch that but caught up on the dresses today. The house is amazing, love love love the tub. I had originally fallen for a similar tub for our bathroom but it cost almost as much as our 1.5 bathroom renovation did. Bummer! Also like the yard. I am really into the mix of grass, river rocks/pebbles and metal edging.

  19. This has got to be one of my favorite house tours you've featured! I love the bedroom with the pink pillows.

And about the Oscars.. at first I hated it, but then I decided I loved Naomi Watts' crazy metallic dress!
