Little house of horrors

Have you ever had one of those times in your life where you think everything is going along swimmingly and then BAM - a mess of ruin, rot and destruction hits you smack in the face?  If so, then you probably lived in this house.  Really quite handsome isn't it?  List price of over $2 million and with some elegant, yet comfortable, Frank Lloyd Wright-esque features.  Lush landscaping surrounding the pool and huge patio, complete with fireplace.  And then IN YO FACE, the room of death right off of the kitchen.  Pretty much negates all of the attractive characteristics about the house.

How would you even talk about it if you were thinking of buying it?  "Hey honey, how did you feel about the house with the zoo of heads on the wall?"

Wouldn't you think as a realtor showing this home, you would advise the home owners to put that sh*t away?  What about you - if you came across a home like this on the market, would the room of death put you off buying it?

  1. I think I would insist that the heads convey. Then I'd donate them to a natural history museum.

  2. Hahaha those heads definitely ruin it! Other than that, it's such a gorgeous house! I mean, that pool looks amazing!

  3. Haha, oh god. Yeah -- I was really digging the interior photos until I got to THAT one. What the heck were they thinking... I suppose "someone" would be interested in that sort of thing.. I think... but yeah, not I!

--the rest of the house is really gorgeous though!

  4. Um, yeah, gorgeous house but no thank you. I don't like those white couches in this setting either. Yuck.

    Nice gem you found. :)

  5. Is it odd that I think my favorite part of this house is the front yard? Specifically those stones leading up to the door? I love the simplicity yet uniqueness of it. (:

  6. I agree, it was a total Bam. :) I would still go for it for a reasonable price but those heads on the walls are definitely the first to go.

  8. Hahaha, this is the first thing I thought of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnB6NNnt_Ao

"This is a lovely room of death!"

Yeahh, I'd have to pass on the whole house. No thank you! The cross outside on the patio is so ironic. Like Jesus would have had a room like that in his house!

  9. The room of death is a off-putting, but aside from that, it is AMAZING!!! :P

  10. Gross. I wouldn't even look at the rest of the house. I did notice that the person seems to mostly like killing the animals that can't fight back. Inferiority complex, perhaps?

  11. That room is horrifying and not even a little bit funny. Or interesting. Or amusing. One piece is a little scary but so many fills me with anxiety.

  12. That is SO CREEPY!!! How can you relax with all those dead animal eyes staring you down?? The outdoor space and pool are both amazing but I don't think it makes up for the creepy evidence of an animal killer on the prowl. I have no problem with hunting if you eat what you kill but when it's purely for the sport of killing defenseless animals (like a zebra!!), it makes me question the hunter's mental health. And I would not want to live in a crazy person's former home.

  13. Creeepy... Definitely a deal breaker for me... I would be afraid of the bad vibe there!

  14. Oh wow. It's such a peaceful, gorgeous house until you walk into that room. If I bought the house, I don't know that I'd ever be able to fully relax in that room. (Great find!)

  15. It's a beautiful house but I'm definitely not a fan of decapitated animals hanging on the walls.

  16. The curb appeal is top notch! The styling is perfect (I.e. that kilim rug). I really despise animal heads as trophies, but I think I could get past it if I had $2 mil and someone else to remove them.

  17. Ugh, I would SO not buy this house - even when all the sad heads were removed I´d see them and they would haunt me during nights I´m sure. :-/

  18. Ugggh trophy rooms are SO creepy! Definitely a deal breaker!

  19. i like antlers but i am not one that is really into zebra heads or a goose in flight off my wall. it's a little shall we say . . . overkill? the tv mounted on the wall gives it an even creepier vibe.

  20. Woah!! All those animal heads!! Haha...definitely wasn't expecting that.

    BUT, I'm loving the kitchen.

  21. No. No. No. Rooth no. Why? I just can't. I can't. The room of death? I can't.

  22. Oh that would put me off from buying a house, totally. The room of death indeed. Why do people kill animals for 'fun', 'sport' and 'decoration'? So gross.

  23. lol- Yes, well, if this house is on the market, someone definitely should have paid more attention to their Staging 101 book.

  24. I was thinking this is a gorgeous house and then I saw all the animal heads. Totally not my cup of tea. Creepy.

  25. Oh my word! That room is anything but subtle : )

  26. Whoa, Nellie! It looks like they're holding a pow-pow. I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting in that room--in the hot seat, as it were. And I'm pretty sure I'd feel the need to sleep with one eye open . . . you know, just in case. :)

  27. Haha, this definitely made me laugh out loud!

  28. OMG WHO PUTS SO MANY HEADS IN ONE ROOM?! All other spaces are nice but this?! THIS?! OH NO
