Drama queen
If this house looks like it has been mauled over by a designer, that's because it has been. Although, "mauled over" in the best sense of the phrase. This 1960s home actually belongs to a local designer in town who did a major reno of the interior and injected the home with lots of drama. How do you like the tall drapes, art display and tile in the foyer, almost like walking into a museum? Or the modern claw foot tub in the master bath? The wooden floors throughout are beautiful as well. And I kind of like the multi-coloured cabinets in the kitchen. I know it doesn't necessarily work for everyone but I think it works for this house. Also, that backyard living space is just perfect - football watching parties, barbecues and Sunday brunch. If only the weather would hold up for it now.
oh man at that last picture
ReplyDeleteI would just love to live in a home like this! Everything is just done perfectly.

Yowza! It's a little too much for me on the inside . . . but that last photo. Love.
ReplyDeleteLove the inside and I could definitely enjoy that backyard and party space!
ReplyDeleteWow, drama is right! I'm absolutely in love with the outdoor space - magical!
ReplyDeleteThe entryway chandelier excluded, all of the light fixtures in the place are horrid. Get rid of those builder-grade ceiling fans!
ReplyDeleteOhh, I LOVE all the artwork hanging in this home! A good piece of art can really make a room stand out.

ReplyDeleteSo many great features. I'd love for my house to be mauled that way. I especially like the tile and the tub.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the artwork!! And my favorite rooms as a whole are the bathroom (that tub!) and the formal living room - the design on the walls, the ornate furniture, the giant piece of coral. Bravo to the designer! Thank you for posting - this is my favorite house tour you've shown :)
ReplyDeletePS love the new pic and about me! I feel like your stalker for noticing the about me change, but whatevs ;)
These are my very favorite of your posts. I love the house tours you do. While on the whole this particular house is a little fussy for me, I love pieces of it. The entry, the tub, that outdoor space. Oh, that outdoor space. Hello. Now that's nice!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous home!!!
