All hail the double oven

All hail the mighty double oven!

With this awesome household appliance, we could avoid the plague of procrastination pie.
It would prevent my father and I from jockeying for prime oven position
And for saving the trouble of us hiring an air traffic controller
To schedule our oven usage on Thanksgiving.

Imagine, I wouldn't have to wake up at 7 am tomorrow just to bake the hot buttered rum apple pie (which needs to bake for TWO hours).

This will most definitely be a necessary accessory for the next home I live in.

  1. My parents have a double oven in their home. It definitely is a god-send come the holidays. Or any major party day, really.

  5. Wow. I don't even use my one oven so I don't know what I would do with two. But this is pretty amazing.

  6. I'm with you 100%! I'd like a double sink too.

I hope the traffic is moving smoothly, no pile-ups.

  8. My grandmother always had two ovens and for most of the year it didn't make any sense to have so much oven space, and then around thanksgiving it was a total necessity!

  10. My thoughts EXACTLY! I baked the pies a day early this year (the bird is such an oven hog), so there was nearly an ugly scene to be had this Thanksgiving holiday. Cold pies, sure . . . but no ugliness.

    So thankful . . .

  11. Hopefully you survived it! I don't think there are ever any baked pies at my Thanksgivings so it hasn't been a big deal. This year there were crock pots and a hot plate {from the 60s} so the other foods got heated fine.

Two ovens would be nice though. :)

  14. For the very first time, we discussed the value of a double oven this year. I'm going to be putting a toaster oven in the garage to heat one side dish, a 'cooker' to heat up the ham (also in the garage) and jockeying for oven time in our single oven. My dishes can be timed o.k., but relatives don't say WHAT they are bringing until the last minute...grrr.

  15. That for sure would make a great addition to any home ;) I don't do a lot of entertaining currently, but I think as I get older that would totally be necessary :)
