Hello yellow!

For some reason, it has been quite difficult for me to find an unstaged home lately.  I tend to like the muss and mess of every day life and being able to peek into someone's life very briefly through their home.  Of course, pictures of houses for sale typically only show the cleaned up version of someone's life but I can let my imagination run pretty rampant.  This house is very well staged but I had to share it for it's daffodil yellow  front door and bright and clean interior.  Little touches like the front walk, porch swing and pocket doors to the kitchen make me oooh and ahhh.  I want that mudroom / office combo someday too please.  Hopefully, after a weekend full of grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning and running errands, it's just the type of house that will motivate you on a Monday.

  3. I see how this has potential, I also see how it looks unused and has next to no personality... love the door!

  4. Ooh, a yellow door! I would, of course, have to add a splash of color indoors, as well . . .

  5. Oh GAWD, come to my house! It's about as unstaged as you'll get! A few years back we had some neighbors come back to a house they'd previously rented out and the mother of this family (a woman I really admire) prefaced the tour she gave me by saying, "We live in our house, you know." Words to live by in my book. Those are the houses I like. That being said, I love this house, with it's sunny door and that gorgeous dining table.

  6. Wow this house looks gorgeous. It does look a bit painfully neat in these photos, like you said, but it would be lovely after a bit of living-in.

  7. Oh my! I love that mudroom/office combo too....so functional! And yellow is not my colour in terms of fang shui, but I do love the door. So.....perky:)

  8. I love that yellow door.

Around here in Suburbia, all of the houses are plain white, but some of them have red doors. Like bright cherry red doors. Some call that beauty, I say they look like the entryway to a murder house.

  9. I love the yellow door and I really like when a bench replaces chairs at the dinning table.

  10. I get such a girl-boner for that walk in shower room. That shower alone is bigger than a lot of my old apartments! All that marble in the kitchen paired with that rustic wood bench...sigh! Stunning.

  24. Too many things to like about this house! I like porches big enough for a swing. There's barely enough room to walk on many modern (fake) porches. I always thought it would be nice to have a mud room with a big bench, a few lockers, and hooks for guests. I like this set-up. I also like the bench and table in the kitchen.

It almost goes without saying that I love pocket doors. They are just neat!!!

  26. Love, love, love the look of this house! The yellow door especially is so fun and welcoming and what I find great is that it's the perfect shade of yellow. I'd have to say though that the entry way here is my favourite! Thanks for sharing :)
