A little bit epic

Anyone watch X Games Aspen over the weekend?  The Winter Games in Sochi are only a year away and I've got skiing on my mind.  It seems that every year, right around this time, I do a post like this.  A grand escape to the mountains.  To the wide drifts of snow and the quiet of gliding on top of it and seeing the world laid out at your feet.  Or more like skis pointed uphill, somehow flat on your back and getting snow down your pants.

So maybe I shouldn't be talking about wanting a vacation so early on in the game but it's never too early to plan now is it?  This boutique hotel The Dolce Vita Chalet in South Tyrol, Italy has got all the makings of a cozy and dare-I-say romantic ski vacation.  Let's see who can be first to convince her / his significant other to book this trip as a Valentine's Day present.  On second thought, screw asking someone else, let's just go.*

*I am not sponsored by DV Chalet for this post but would gladly be.  They can compensate me with a room for a week.  Thanks.  I mean Grazie.

  4. Gorgeous! I just checked out the website for prices and considering the level of luxury it is fairly reasonable. I have bookmarked it for when we book our ski trip for January 2014 (we can't go this year because of work booo) Thanks for sharing.

  10. Haha, I have the most ridiculous story about the first (and only) time I ever skied. It did not end well. Speaking of the X Games, didn't one of the performers/participants just die from his injuries? Sorry to be a total downer, I just read something on that though. Super sad! xo

  11. It's definitely never too early to plan! And I did end up watching some of the X-games. Totally lusted over the slopes and freshly powdered snow. A stay in a nice wooden cabin sounds incredible (and much needed) right about now.

  12. I'm dying for a chalet in the mountains too, and I haven't even been watching the X Games. I've had a crazy busy week, so I've missed you and I want to spend more time on your last post (brave!). I also wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten your question about my dining room lamp: it's from IKEA. So easily, it too, can be yours!

  13. Beautiful rooms! Between the rooms and what I imagine the ski lodge looks like, I might not make it onto the slopes.
