House of the Rising Sun
Maybe I'm still basking in the afterglow of the New Year's celebration but I am optimistic (yikes!) that this year is going to be bright and full 'o light. Does anybody else feel this way? As if 2013 is a tomato red, wrinkly, screaming infant right now and we're the proud parents cooing at it and daydreaming of its potential. Anything can still happen and the outlook is cautiously sunny and cloudless - a bluebird day.
Folkses, this house captures my sentiment for 2013 perfectly. Look at that gorgeous, watercolour Texas view. You know what, I don't even care that the kitchen is the size a thimble. And that the doors inside the home look like that out of an office complex. And that the lawn is probably crawling with rattlesnakes and fire ants. And come tornado time, the house would be a pancake with a light dusting of shattered glass. Right now, it's crystal clear and gorgeous in this one frozen moment.

cool house
ReplyDeleteDon't care about the kitchen??? Like the year, your eyes must be bright and full 'o light today, reflecting the optimism and enthusiasm you're feeling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to start a new year. :)
Yes, yes, yes to your whole first paragraph! :-) This house is so very modern.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
i completely agree, whatever the downfalls this house may offer it is amazing! i love the outside and the inside and that the inside seems like it's apart of the outside too. great find!
ReplyDeleteI feel that way too! Here's hoping the feeling doesn't fade too soon ...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year !
I'm with you, both on 2013 and the house.
ReplyDeleteThe fewer materials above, the fewer things to pull of the door to the basement after the tornado though, right?
I think 2013 is going to be so amazing - I just have that feeling.
ReplyDeleteI love that house. The light!
Oh my gosh! I know a lot of peeps don't like having the whole bedroom exposed like that, but when you're in such a private property, look how pretty the view is...sigh....
ReplyDeleteI pretty much bid this home adieu with "rattlesnakes" . . .
ReplyDeleteBut yes, bright and full of light! Go 2013!
A bed facing the great view outdoors every waking morning is definitely in my dream house design consideration list.
ReplyDeleteI love the poured concrete floors and those windows! But windows that big would definitely put a damper in all the "walking around naked" I like to do.
ReplyDeleteKidding!
Woah could you imagine waking up to that view every day? AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteI am very optimistic about 2013 as well! Hope it doesn't wear off too fast...Love the views that the house has and the mixture of steel, glass, concrete and wood.
ReplyDeleteDid I miss the picture of this small kitchen? It really is a gorgeous house...but now all I'm picturing are those snakes!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis really is going to be a great year!
I concur! I also have a feeling 2013 is going to be a great year. :)
ReplyDeleteThat home would be such a great place to get-away for a few days or weeks... but I don't think I could live there. could you imagine cleaning those windows!? But seriously -- gorgeous home with great sleek designs!
Definitely full of light!! And so is the year!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Love love love the glass windows and all the light that comes through.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only house I've seen that has a great view and with great color when you look at the big glass windows! Awesome!
